How to Set up and Play Woodland Bingo
Woodland Bingo is super easy to set up. You don’t need fancy or expensive supplies to put this game together. Since this game comes with pictures, even toddlers or preschoolers will be able to play this game. All you need is printable bingo cards and the calling sheet.
You will also need some markers for players to cross the squares on their cards. Make it exciting for kids and ask them to brainstorm what else they can use instead of markers. Ask them to use M&Ms, candy, lego toys, cheerios, etc.
A bowl or a hat is required to put the cut-out and folded squares from the calling sheet. The host will pick and call out each square that players will try to match on their bingo cards.
You’ll need the following supplies:
- Bingo cards and a calling sheet (digital files included in this printable)
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
- Hat or a Bowl
- Download and open the printable files using Adobe Reader.
- Print out each bingo board and calling cards on heavy paper or white cardstock to prepare for play.
- Cut out the individual cards in the calling sheet along the lines. Fold them in half and put them in a hat or a bowl. Now you’re ready to play!
- Have the host pick out a folded square from the bowl and call out the number or the name of the animal.
- Players with the same number or animal image on their bingo card cross off or color that square.
- Whoever gets all five in a row yells BINGO and wins the game. Space in the center is Free space.
Tips for Playing with Smaller Children
We recommend printing out multiple bingo cards if you’re playing with younger children who might have trouble staying focused or keeping track of what they’re supposed to be looking for.
That way, they can play multiple rounds and have a better chance of winning. You can also try breaking up into teams, so everyone feels like they’re part of the game.
